Posting this here because I don't want to make a new thread yet, but I'm actually working on a script for my own sequel; it's not necessarily going to be based on Clouseau, but kind of like how "Curse of the Pink Panther" was, with a new character, although it is based on finding Clouseau. the storyline will be set on the present tense, so 20 or so years after Clouseau disappeared. It's something I persue as a hobby, I'm a musician primarily, so it's good to have a different creative outlet like this, it's a challenge for me, but I did always like to write. I've got a few different ideas for a storyline. I use the title "Legacy of the Pink Panther". I might share more later if you don't think its a pathetic idea

Oh okay sorry Clouseau..
Nah, there's no DVD release...strange..on the review sites I've seen around, ALOT of people have asked for a DVD release, and I think it is overdue considering this is the last movie he ever completed..
PS I've reordered the video, the original seller was nice enough to refund me the full amount completely.. I don't have a video player....But i'll try to sort something out
PPS Burt Kwouk is in it as well, except I don't think he has an extensive role

To Mr Sellers,
Thank you is just not enough.
Regards, Ben.
RIP Peter Sellers. He always makes me happy. I wish I was there to experience him in his prime while he was still alive. It makes me sad to realise such a beautiful man is no longer here to fill the world with joy. He has filled my life with utmost joy. He always will until the day I die. And after. Inspector Clouseau has been in my life for as long as I remember and he will never die for me. This sounds so ridiculous but he is like my uncle, that is how close he is in my life. There is only one Inspector Clouseau. There is only one Peter Sellers.

"Being There" is not what you expect, but if you have the right frame of mind, it will make you do more than just laugh. It will seriously make you think as well. It is a beautiful film. The character of Chance.. honestly, you will forget that it's Peter Sellers acting. I know that's how it is for alot of his films but Peter made Chance a completely different man if that makes sense..
The Pink Panther movies...amazing
I don't know. I couldn't say a favourite.

Roberto Benigni. He did an oustanding job making a character based on Clouseau but his own man, if that makes any sense. I really wish they would persue with Jacques Clouseau Jr. and try a second movie, even if it was just a 'direct-to-video' kind of thing
I can't say any of the other Clouseaus can top Peter. I enjoyed Roger Moore's performance, but I can't classify that as a Clouseau performance.. It wasn't Clouseau..the whole "plastic surgery" idea...and it's more like Roger Moore being Inspector Clouseau being James Bond..hence I enjoy it in the same context as Benigni's character.. It's a great reinterpretation of Clouseau in a new character / context.
But no, there is no other Clouseau than Peter Sellers. Like I've said before, Steve Martin did a good job reinventing Clouseau, but there simply cannot be a (Chief) Inspector Jacques Clouseau like Peter's definitive Clouseau.

He sure was. Its great that such great actors have been forever immortalized in your favourite movies, but its also sad when you are so enthusiastic about these classic movies but you realise so many of these people have sadly passed on, yet it just goes to show how much they affected our lives in their work, no matter how big or small their part may have been.

Hello
I've searched around the internet but I haven't been able to find anything about Andre, except a list of movies he's been in, up to about 1994.
Is he still alive?
I assume he is living rather low key now, like Mr Lom. I guess he'd be about 80 years old now or something right..
Does anyone have any information?

I really prefer Graham Stark as Professor Balls, there's something annoying about the other one...I think the opening scene in Trail of the Pink Panther would have worked alot better if it was Graham.. He just fits the character so much better

I'm sure there could be people who'd be able to impersonate Sellers / Clouseau, but in the end that's all they will be. Impersonations. Sure, Steve Martin is a sound actor in his own right and he did a good job interpreting Clouseau as his own, but the truth is Clouseau is, for lack of a better word, sacred. They can rework and reinterpret Clouseau as much as they like and I'm sure a good performance could be turned out but at the end of the day the only Clouseau is Peter Sellers. Roger Moore's Clouseau was a great performance, but for its own, completely different reasons. Roger Moore's Clouseau was Roger Moore being Inspector Clouseau being James Bond being Inspector Clouseau or something like that, yknow what I mean? It wasn't Peter Sellers. That's the best way I can put it.
I feel they had a good idea going with Clifton Sleigh, even if the storyline was a bit weak. Personally, I love "Son of the Pink Panther". I watch that just as much as the old classics. What do I like about it? I feel Roberto Benigni took the spirit and inspiration of Peter Sellers/Clouseau, and based that on his own character that come across as alot more natural, if that makes sense. Sure it didn't have a strong storyline and consistency but it was a great job and I enjoy that movie alot. They should have kept going like that. Just like with Indiana Jones, I know it might be a bad comparison but with Indiana Jones for instance; you had the main indiana jones movies with Harrison ford etc, but they had the 'young indiana jones' series based on the movies, which didn't necessarily have any connection to the movies or central characters or any sort of ongoing storyline or anything like that, but was popular in its own right as a spinoff.
