I received a signed photo from Mr Lom today =] No letter, just the signed photo. I got one like this from ebay before for about $10, but I feel really pleased that somewhere along the line he's acknowledged the letter I sent and he sent this in return.

on a side note, that's awesome that Herbert actually replied considering I haven't heard successes from him either. It's sad that he's so old now, he'd be almost 90 right.
hey, considering he replied from the diamond management address,.. is he doing anything at the moment? any tv shows or radio programs? I haven't been able to find any info. i'm sure at this stage in his life he wants to make the most of peace and quiet though..
Last film he did was 'Son of the Pink Panther' back in 1993..He finished a historical novel around that time also called 'Dr. Guillotin: The Eccentric Exploits of an Early Scientist' about the French Revolution, and that's all I've found..

I had already written the envelope I sent but he did write from Burt Kwouk then the Diamond MNgmt address on it. He sent a picture and a Bodn stars card. Its actually sigend by him and its nto a preprint. He wrote a message on the back of the letter I sent him. thats awesome, so he actually wrote a reply or a note to you? i know how burt writes 'with complements' on your correspondence i guess so you know he read it sorry for all the questions oh i got the signed david niven cheque yesterday, made out to the 'screen actors guild' for $80, a nice little collectable, ill find a link to it later i think they have some other stock left so you can check out their website www.goldenstateautographs.compretty decent prices.

Hey Dreyfus, did he write a letter or a note, or did he handwrite your envelope like Burt does? Or anything or did you just get the pic? And is it actually signed by him or does it look like a preprint?

I got the Peter Sellers one. It's an older picture of Clouseau, from the first Pink Panther, I've confirmed it is authentic as far as I know, I've compared it to other autographs I got a Herbert Lom one from Ebay which is similar to the one Dreyfus posted except its been signed in blue pen ink and I got it from Ebay for about $20 (But now that you got a reply from him I'm gonna write to him too). David Niven..............you can get authentic signed checks because there aren't alot of his autographs around. If you're interested, go to www.goldenstateautographs.com. You might see one on Ebay but they are very overpriced..You can get them from the above website for about $50 or $60US. I've got one on the way to me now. I wanted to get a signed photo but all I could find were pre-prints. This will do for sure.

Thanks Dreyfus. Yeah he wrote with complements on the back of my letter. Was cool.
What do people think about that sellers autograph i got on ebay... i guess its all trust on the seller eh. i guess if its not authentic hes gonna get his ass kicked because he sure very well did a job boasting about how authentic his sales are etc

Fair enough clouseau, hey better than nothing. i've seen some of herbert's autographs on ebay, they don't go for too much compared to others..Yeah Sellers would be a fair bit..The cheapest I've found is at least $150AU, which is still pretty cheap considering his status.. and its not pre printed or anything either (i'm sure there's a catch somewhere though)..
Well i posted my letter two days ago..hopefully it's on a plane somewhere heading to the UK...gees isn't it amazing to think, how far that one letter is going to go..across to the other side of the world....that one letter has gone further than i ever will..sorry random thought lol

Yeah quite a few people had successes with Burt Kwouk. I finally posted my letter off to him this morning..who knows..I'd cry with happiness and probably piss myself If i got anything from him, that guy was my hero, he is my link to the Panther movies now. Herbert Lom..I haven't heard of many successes with him in recent years. I have heard of a few in the late '90s..but I don't know any more details. To be completely honest, just beause he has gone under the radar, I thought he had passed away I wonder...has anyone met Peter Sellers though....maybe someone from an older generation of fans..who by some chance lurks around here....that would be cool to hear

Wow I was going through old threads and I come across all this stuff I forgot about. The novel thing is still an ongoing idea for me, but I'm changing the ideas.. I guess rather than base it on any sort of realistic time line though... I dunno.. This will be one of my main projects for 2007 that's for sure. This is only vague but one of the persistent ideas I have is it being kind of like a cross between Curse of the Pink Panther and something ripped off any one of the James Bond movies... Possibly picking up where Curse leaves off, or shortly thereafter that period of time, primarily centered around Scotland Yard since the idea of the seurte "investigating" Clouseau's death, Dreyfus trying to make sure Clouseau stays disappeared, immediate successors of Clouseau (e.g clifton sleigh, jack gumbrelli) etc has been beaten to death, at least in the french perspective. At least this time there are one or more incidents concluding with immediate links to Clouseau, in a darker way, kind of sequenced similar to what you'd see in one of the old james bond films. I don't know if this makes sense, but this idea only started to make sense one or two days ago so when I get a better idea ill post and enquire your feedback

thanks Clouseau, yeah, i will do that, but I wasn't sure if it was worth posting a new topic for lol anyway yeah sorry for taking this off topic. thats a cool poster though you made britishchap.. the font is awesome
in terms of the movie itself though they should just leave the idea alone.. even if they were going to make it, its still not the same without the original cato, francois, dreyfus.. thats why i was getting distracted when watching the latest one with Steve Martin.. nothing to say about his quality as an actor.. just the whole idea and background
