This is a project I've been working on for a few weeks now, and have just finally finished it. This is a DVD cover for a continuation of the Pink Panther movies that I'm writing, called "Children of the Pink Panther." It picks up where "Son of the Pink Panther" left off, with a few details changed here and there. On the left is Jacques Gambrelli (or Clouseau Jr.) and on the right is my new character, Charla Dreyfus, daughter of (you guessed it) Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus. Some of the things (mostly logos) are taken from official DVD covers, but Jacques, Charla and the Pink Panther were all drawn by me.

The Pink Panther theme is actually my ringtone. I have two versions of it, a MIDI and an mp3 that sounds like it came straight from the films.

I just wanted to post and say Merry Christmas to everyone here, and Happy New Year too.

Oh, I'm so happy that I could find a forum like this! ;D The Pink Panther movies are my newest obsession, and at first I thought it was something that basically had no real fandom, but I was wrong! Yay! Uh, er, hi. Wow, I've just realized that that was the most spontaneous first post I've ever made on a forum.

Definitely Roberto Benigni. Although I don't like everything that happens in the film he appears in, I think it was a great idea for Clouseau to have a son. I didn't really care for Ted Wass's Clifton Sleigh character. He was okay, but I didn't find him all that likeable; he acted very annoying.

Hmm. I don't really like the idea of someone other than Peter Sellers as Clouseau. But if the person looked and acted similar, then I might not mind it so much. I've never seen the Steve Martin remake, so I can't have a true opinion of it right now, but I don't like the looks of it.
I also can't see how anyone but Herbert Lom could be Chief Inspector Dreyfus. I know that he is going to be 90 next year and probably couldn't do the role anymore, but the fact that they've replaced him is what bugs me. I could be wrong, but from what I've heard, this new Dreyfus doesn't even act as insane as his predecessor.
But anyway, I think that the story they had for Son of the Pink Panther was a nicer way to keep the series going (without Clouseau's being there), and it's a shame they haven't expanded that idea to its full potential.

The latest one I watched was The Pink Panther Strikes Again with one of my friends last night. ;D Also, right before that, we watched The Phantom of the Opera (1962) in which Herbert Lom starred as the Phantom. Seeing him in that movie was actually how I discovered the Pink Panther series.

A couple of days ago a friend of mine came to my house, and I had already planned on showing her as many of the movies as I could that day. We watched A Shot in the Dark, The Return of the Pink Panther, The Pink Panther Strikes Again first. Later she requested that we rewatch Return. To my surprise and delight, she watched the entire thing and really, really enjoyed it. Now I think she's hooked on the movies too, not that that's a bad thing, of course.
