I saw this while searching through an old Wilton catalog from the 1980s, and apparently they still make it-- a Pink Panther shaped cake pan. I think it looks pretty neat. The catalog also had plastic figures of the Pink Panther and the Inspector that you could put on top of a cake, but I'm not sure if they're still available or not.

I've always loved "Shadows of Paris", but I have to admit that I too thought a man was singing it, and was kind of shocked to learn otherwise. However, it has been quite some time since I last watched A Shot in the Dark. I'll have to get it out again and listen more carefully...

So, which of all the Pink Panther films was the one that first introduced you to the series? For me, it was The Pink Panther Strikes Again, because I had been wanting to watch the movies for a while and had heard that it was one of the best... and I found that to be true.

I think it's been a little over a year since I last posted here, but I'm back! My interests had switched for a while, but now I've gotten back into The Pink Panther. I'm still working on that fanfic, and have some new fanart that I'll have to find and post.

Of all the PP films I've seen (which currently doesn't include The Pink Panther 1963 or 2006) I'd say The Return of the Pink Panther makes the best use of the theme. The opener just used the basic version of it, and that's the one I like the best. Now as to the worst use of the theme... that'd be, in my opinion, the Son of the Pink Panther opener. The tune was hardly recognizable there. But, of course, that should probably go in another thread.

I was going to vote for Come to Me from PPSA, but then I saw Shadows of Paris as an option. Though I don't bother too much with the songs, that one is hauntingly beautiful, and I'd say it is my favorite.

It sounds like a nice idea to me. I'd love wallpaper like that. I also like the idea of having a different movie for each month. And if someone wanted, they could print the calendar pages out too.

I do like the 1975-1982 Inspector, but I think Gambrelli from 1993 is just so cute that I voted for him.

I like the retro style; it's very elegant-looking and for some reason makes me think more of the movies, probably because of the R2 boxset mentioned. If the R1 version had that artwork, I'd be tempted to get it even though I've already got nearly all of the movies contained in it in their single disc releases. Charles Dreyfus in that retro style would be neat.

I've introduced two people to the series, the first one with A Shot in the Dark and the second with The Pink Panther Strikes Again. I'd prefer to use Strikes Again because not only was the first PP film that I ever watched (and my favorite), you can understand and enjoy it without having to see the ones that come before it first (though this could also be said for most of the other movies in the series).

I voted for A Shot in the Dark, but it's a close tie between it and The Return of the Pink Panther. Although I love the whole ending with Dreyfus at the asylum in Return, I also love the one with the bomb in the car in Shot, when Dreyfus realizes that Clouseau wasn't involved in the explosion and breaks down crying, telling Clouseau that he hates him while biting him on the leg.

As one could probably tell, I'm very pleased with the result of this tournament. And it is, in my opinion, the way it should be. This was really fun. I hope there'll be another one soon.

Could there be any doubt about what my choice would be? Dreyfus

And here I am Hmm... this is a hard choice as I really don't like the explanation for Clouseau's disappearance in Curse, and I'm not too fond of the new Clouseau either. Eh, I suppose I'll say Moore, because after putting the Clouseau-had-plastic-surgery scenario aside, I guess the performance was pretty good.
