Nice job, Yannick and nice to see you posting here as well, by the way. Mind you, one could argue you only consider the 70s Panther canon based on your hilarious montage...

Ken Wales is on the board for MovieGuide. Mr. Wales is a veteran producer and former production partner of Blake Edwards. They worked together throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Mr. Wales was a credited Associate Producer on REVENGE OF THE PINK PANTHER. He was also Mr. Edwards' best man at his 1969 wedding to Julie Andrews.

Considering this is the first animated series since the 1993 PINK PANTHER series with Matt Frewer as the voice of the Panther, I think the TINY TOONS approach is a misstep. The character should be re-introduced to a new generation by going back to the basics as MGM did with the first Steve Martin film. Juggling the new live action film franchise with a pint-sized version of its mascot and other long dormant DePatie-Freleng properties in their own animated series sounds like brand confusion to me.

I look forward to posting. I previously posted as either Colonel Al Durai or Rocky Dijon on ezboard's A Shot in the Dark messageboard as well as the late, lamented BlakeEdwards.com messageboard under those names or my real name: William Patrick Maynard.

I was told he died by Herb Tanney. Dr. Tanney has been Blake Edwards' personal physician for over forty years. Along with appearing in nearly every Blake Edwards film, Mr. Tanney can be seen as the Nice Police Chief in RETURN ("Does Sir Charles Litton have a swimming peul?"), as the assassin in drag at the Oktoberfest in STRIKES AGAIN who gets impaled on the giant pretzel, as the Hong Kong police chief with Herbert Lom in REVENGE, as the assassin who plants the time bomb on Ted Wass' taxi in CURSE, and as the Deputy Police Chief in SON who does the memorable spit-take. When I interviewed him via email a few years ago, I asked why Mr. Maranne did not return as Francois in SON and was told he had died just prior to the film entering production.

Maranne is the correct spelling.

Mr. Maranne passed away before SON entered production. This is why a different actor played Francois in the film.

I like Eric Pohlmann, but think Arkin was underrated as Clouseau, so I'll cast what is likely a minority vote for Arkin (something the man himself wouldn't do). Round 23 is tough because I love them both, but I have to give the nod to Cato.
