it's a spin-off with events that are supposedly happening during the events of the Get Smart movie... focuses on Bruce & Lloyd, who are the tech guys for CONTROL (kinda like Q in James Bond)... it's goofy, but i don't think it's near as funny as the theatrical film... i bought it at Wal Mart, and it came with a free movie ticket to see Get Smart at the theater, so that's cool...

I'm putting my foot down and refusing to see the Bruce & Lloyd DVD. Just looks too stupid for me.

I've got to wait till the 22nd August to see it The reviews have all been good so it looks promising. I saw the Bruce & Lloyd DVD advertised whilst on vaccation. Didn't look to great.

I saw the Bruce & Lloyd DVD advertised whilst on vaccation. Didn't look to great. Well you know it can't be that great, since it's direct-to-DVD.

Well I saw it yesterday. I really enjoyed it, my favourite comedy of 2008 alongwith Walk Hard. Carrell & Hathaway were both great. I also never minded Dwayne Johnson in this, he usually annoys me but he wasn't too bad. Alan Arkin, Terrence Stamp and James Caan were all pretty good too.
I loved the dance scene with Smart.

i liked Arkin and Caan, but Stamp annoyed me, mostly because he didn't play Siegfried anything like the original... i've never really had a problem with Dwayne Johnson, but sometimes the movies he chooses to do aren't good choices... at least this one was a good choice! anyway, glad you liked it! you should come join my Get Smart community...

I might just do that I'll have to buy the first of the original series. I like what I've seen from the odd episodes on Youtube, so I'll wait till one pops up on ebay (and I've got some £££) Going back to the 08 movie, another great scene was with Arkin & the Swordfish. Peter Segal did that in his movie My Fellow Americans but instead of a swordfish it was a giant snowman's face going through a car window.

wow, i didn't realize Segal directed My Fellow Americans! i really enjoyed that movie! IMO, the original Get Smart series is a lot funnier than the '08 movie (though i enjoyed both), so i'm sure you won't be disappointed when you finally get around to it...

Well I've eventually gotten round to it. It was only £5 I've placed my order now, so it should be here by Tuesday.

£5?! what a steal! i'll be awaiting your thoughts once you've watched a little of it... the GS forums are still up and running, though things are still a little slow getting off the ground there... i'm excited because the '08 movie will be out on DVD in just a few weeks now...
