between December 1965 and May 1969, The Inspector - a cartoon spin-off from the Pink Panther film series - starred in 30 theatrical shorts... below is a list of all 34 adventuresome episodes, along with the date of each short's theatrical debut and a short description (hopefully without too many spoilers) of what to expect from each one... *i have also added pictures of the villains from 29 of the episodes, for your enjoyment... a 30th villain can be seen in the thread's second post... hopefully the remaining 4 will be located in the near future!
it should be noted that according to Pink Panther: The Ultimate Guide to the Coolest Cat in Town The Inspector (who remained nameless throughout the series) was based on Inspector Clouseau, and his sidekick, Sgt. Deux Deux, was based on Hercule Lajoy, though his name was taken from Dudu, the maid in ASITD...
- The Great DeGaulle Stone Operation (12/21/65) - The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux have to recover the DeGaulle diamond after it’s repeatedly stolen by The Brothers Matzoriley (Weft, White, and Wong)
- Reaux, Reaux, Reaux Your Boat (02/01/66) - taking to the high seas, The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux go after a pearl smuggler named Captain Clamity and his lobster henchman; but the task proves so difficult, The Inspector is left with a sinking feeling, repeatedly
- Napoleon Blown-Aparte (02/02/66) - after The Mad Bomber escapes prison, The Inspector tries to act as bodyguard for The Commissioner, with varied success
- Cirrhosis of the Louvre (03/09/66) - The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux stake out the Louvre in efforts to catch The Blotch, who has vowed tot steal all the valuable art there
- Plastered in Paris (04/05/66) - The Commissioner sends The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux on a chase through Paris, Egypt, Nairobi, and Kilimanjaro in efforts to catch a mysterious man called “X”
- Cock-A-Doodle Deux Deux (06/15/66) - when the world’s largest diamond, the Plymouth Rock, is snatched, The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux hatch their plans to catch the felonious fowl(s) behind the theft
- Ape Suzette (06/24/66) - The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux investigate the theft of a shipload of bananas, and encounter a sailor and a particularly mean monkey
- The Pique Poquette of Paris (08/25/66) - The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux chase down Spider Pierre, a four-armed pick pocket
- Sicque! Sicque! Sicque! (09/23/66) - investigating a mad scientist’s house, Sgt. Deux Deux drinks a “Jeckyll and Hyde” potion, and each time he turns into a monster, he attacks The Inspector
- That’s No Lady -- That’s Notre Dame (10/26/66) - in an effort to nab a purse snatcher, The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux dress up in female disguises and end up getting The Commissioner in trouble with his wife
- Unsafe and Seine (11/09/66) - The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux are sent to find an agent who has information that The Inspector’s life is in danger, but everywhere they’re supposed to go to meet the agent (in Paris, London, Switzerland, Venice, and Africa), disaster happens
- Toulouse la Trick (12/30/66) - The Inspector handcuffs himself to an escaped criminal, Toulouse le Moose, throws away the key, and attempts to bring him in, but Toulouse is much bigger than The Inspector, and refuses to go; eventually, The Inspector would just be happy to get loose from le Moose!
- Sacre Bleu Cross (02/01/67) - on Friday the 13th, The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux try to apprehend Hassan the Assassin with the aid of an un-lucky rabbit’s foot
- Le Quiet Squad (05/17/67) - the doctor orders that the over-stressed Commissioner get plenty of bed rest, and The Inspector is in charge of keeping absolute quiet, but it’s Bastille Day, and there’s a loud alley cat outside
- Bomb Voyage (05/22/67) - The Commissioner is abducted by aliens, and with the help of a monkey-piloted space shuttle, it’s up to The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux to save him
- Le Pig-Al Patrol (05/24/67) - The Inspector must capture Pig-Al's motorcycle gang, which has a mountaintop headquarters
- Le Bowser Bagger (05/30/67) - meet the Inspector's new partner, Private Bowser, the dog; the Surete's first K-9 unit!
- Le Escape Goat (06/29/67) - Louis le Finke has escaped from prison, and has vowed to seek revenge against The Commissioner, so a suspended Inspector tries to play bodyguard, but Louis keeps setting The Inspector up so that it looks like The Inspector, rather than Louis, is responsible for the assassination attempts against The Commissioner
- Le Cop on le Rocks (07/03/67) - wrongly convicted of a crime committed by a look-alike, The Inspector is thrown in prison and tries unsuccessfully to break out to clear his name
- Crow de Guerre (08/16/67) - The Inspector must stop a jewel-stealing crow
- Canadian Can-Can (09/20/67) - on special assignment with the Canadian Mounted Police, The Inspector is sent after Two-Faced Harry, a villain who actually has two faces opposite sides of his head
- Tour de Farce (10/25/67) - Mack la Truck has been sentenced to a prison on Devil's Island, and The Inspector has been assigned to escort him there, but the pair are accidentally stranded, instead, on Deserted Island, where the villain tries to kill The Inspector
- The Shooting of Caribou Lou (12/20/67) - on special assignment with the Canadian Mounted Police, The Inspector is kidnapped by Caribou Lou, an escaped convict
- London Derriere (02/07/68) - having chased Louis la Swipe all around Europe, The Inspector ends up cornering his prey in London, England, where the local police refuse to let him use his gun
- Les Miserobots (03/21/68) - The Inspector loses his job to a robot, and decides to prove his worth by exacting his revenge on the machine that replaced him
- Transylvania Mania (03/26/68) - a vampire and a Frankenstein-like monster want to take The Inspector’s brain and put it in a new creature the vampire is building
- Bear de Guerre (04/26/68) - on a quail-hunting vacation, The Inspector keeps accidentally shooting an ill-tempered bear
- Cherche Le Phantom () - The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux go to investigate reports of a 'Phantom' at the Opera House
- Le Great Dane Robbery (07/07/68) - The Inspector is sent to retrieve a sensitive document from the embassy, but the police is not welcome there, and The Inspector must get past a guard dog to gain entrance
- Le Ball and Chain Gang (07/24/68) - an unhappily married couple bickers to no end while thwarting every attempt by The Inspector to catch up with them
- La Feet’s Defeat (07/24/68) - obviously delirious, The Commissioner sets The Inspector and Sgt. Deux Deux on the trecherous tracks of Muddy Le Feet
- French Freud (01/22/69) - after a series of attempted assassinations, The Inspector visits a psychiatrist, who is also one of the assassins; the villains are trying to kill The Inspector to get at a diamond he is protecting
- Pierre and Cottage Cheese (02/26/69) - thinking Dirty Pierre is holed up in an old house, The Inspector takes suggestions from a robot on how to get into the house and catch the crook
- Carte Blanched (05/14/69) - The Inspector unintentionally steals a shopping cart from a grocery store, and he tries to return it, out of fear and guilt (prodded on by the Narrator), but returning the cart is more difficult than it may seem
