unfortunately, i seem to have run across this a bit too late, though, because even though this article was posted only today, when i folled the links in the article, it says the auction has already closed... guess they didn't do a great job of promoting this thing, because i surely would have posted it sooner if i'd found anything about it in time!
Get the bids in and do your bit
Time is running out to make your bids in the online charity auction for the Hospice at Home appeal.
If you find yourself stuck for gift ideas at Christmas, then the wide range of presents, days out and services under our virtual hammer could save you some effort as you help a good cause.
People have been bidding eagerly for a production drawing from an episode of the Pink Panther, with the price rising to £40.
A round of golf for four at the Gog Magog course has reached £45, while a pair of tickets for the Premiership clash between Fulham and Aston Villa in March are currently at £40.
For those with a more limited budget, a giant fluffy teddy bear at £7 would be a perfect gift for a child or grandchild.
Any young bookworms in the family would love the £100 package of books from Dorling Kindersley, Usborne and Scholastic - and at the moment they are going for just £20.
Is your car full of leaves and old crisp packets? Then a professional valet at Marshall's - currently at £20 - will save you the hassle of tidying.
If you have ever wanted to glimpse life inside Cambridge's corridors of power, a bid of more than £20 could secure a day with mayor Robert Dryden.
Or if you have a child who wants to write the headlines, then a day with News editor Murray Morse is going for £30.
Also up for offer are the chance to be a Cambridge United mascot, a behind-the-scenes tour at Newmarket's 1000 Guineas, a studio session at Dumbleton's photographers, Guy & Chassey champagne and a giant toy tower.
