evidently, Roger Ebert is of the mind that Sellers is the only actor who can play Clouseau, and in his new compilation book, "Your Movie Sucks", he reiterates his opinion: "Despite Sean Connery, I was able to accept the other James Bonds, just as I understand that different actors might play Hamlet. I completely, absolutely agree with the man. Period. Me too. The difference is, James Bond has been played by so many different actors that it has now become normal for a replacement to come in. Clouseau is a different case altogether. Sellers was and will always be Clouseau. |
