"Return to the Planet of the Apes" Coming to DVD

Tvshowsondvd.com reports that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is bringing the animated series Return to the Planet of the Apes on DVD. The two disc set containing 13 episodes at one time was part of the Ultimate DVD Collection along with both the classic movies and the short lived TV series. This time it will be sold separately.
Based on the classic film; three young astronauts get caught in a time vortex and were sent to the year 3979, where the apes are highly intelligent.
Return to the Planet of the Apes aired on NBC back in 1975. The show was produced by David H. DePatie and the late great Isadore "Friz" Freleng, the Oscar-winning team that created The Pink Panther, and were directed by the late great Doug Wildey, the man who created Jonny Quest.
The 2-disc set will be in stores on October 3rd.
