as we reported back in June 2007, there is a play in the works (to appear in London) depicting the life of Peter Sellers... originally, The Daily Express reported that Robert Downey Jr. had beaten out Robin Williams and Steve Coogan for the chance to portray Sellers... now, if this is the same play we're hearing about, it would appear that the role of Peter Sellers has yet to be settled, and Al Pacino is among the names still being considered... the three pertinent questions are 1) is this the same play we heard about last year? 2) if so, what happened to Robert Downey Jr. (assuming he was ever really in contention)? and 3) what other actors also might be contenders for the role? www.pr-inside.com/pacino-to-take-on-sellers-role-r419282.htm

Wow, that would be great. I'm sure Pacino will do an exceptional job, if he ends up doing it. It would be interesting to see the other condenters for the role.
I remember reading that Steve Coogan was 'the next Peter Sellers' after The Parole Officer' was released...
