There was once a poster on imdb who asked this and we never really figured it out. Look at him in The Last Goon Show Of All or that interview for Irish Television (both are uploaded on youtube by Glen Ponder, an amazing guy) and you'll see how his hair is really thinning, and those were in 1972. But, from around the same time at Parkinson in 1972 with Harry Seacombe (not on youtube, the one on youtube is from 1974) he has that full head of hair, much like in the 70's Panthers. So, did he wear a toupee?

i'd feel fairly confident in saying he did in the 70s... i'd wonder if perhaps we didn't see his real hair in Being There, but other than that... i believe his heart attacks had a significant effect on him physically... maybe i'll have a bit more to back that up once i finish reading Mr. Strangelove, but i had already been suspicious just looking at his films, and then after watching The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, my opinion has only been solidified... perhaps we'll never have a definitive answer, but i personally feel pretty sure he did...

Well, watch Trail and then go the scene with Prof. Balls. Then freezeframe him at the moment the professor throws his 'too legal' wig off and you'll see a bit of gray hair with Sellers trying to stop it from being in view. It looks like he touches his hair because he didn't want us to see the toupee under it. Have a look. And I'm positive it's his real hair in Being There. I wonder if he would have continued showing his real hair in future movies, as he does it in The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu too. Do you think he would have done the same thing in Romance had it been made? For everyone who doesn't understand what I mean, this is a screenshot from an interview from 1972. img209.imageshack.us/img209/9674/peter1972al0.jpg

wait! here's the definitive answer: yes, Peter Sellers DID wear a toupee, only it was one of those "reverse" toupees they use, you know, like when they want an actor to look like he's bald/balding... i know this because i've finally seen Peter with his "real" hair! wanna see?! CLICKY CLICKY;D ...ok, maybe not...

you know what would be funny is if they could find a blooper reel or something that showed peters hair flying off during a scene or something like that! ;D

In the first post of 2010 on this forum I would like to post this picture here: It seems as though he was already balding back then and this is from around 1960/1961/1962. So he must have worn a wig already in the first two panthers.
