Pretty simple, who is your least favourite of the inspectors (well some aren't inspectors but you know what I'm getting at ). I can't see the first option gaining too many votes. Jacques Gambrelli for me, I just found him annoying, although Sgt. Sleigh is not far behind.

i'll just switch those two around, Dreyfus, and vote for Sleigh first (with Gambrelli being my close second)...

I vote for Steven Martin's Clouseau rendition.. It was embarassing, to say the least.
Next would be Alan Arkin, while not terrible, just wasn't Sellers, especially in a series that continued with him before and after Arkin.
Sleigh was... Meh, so third choice.
I actually quite liked Gambrelli, so no probs there.

it just makes no sense to me how someone can like Gambrelli and then dislike Martin's Clouseau... boggles my mind! but then, i'm sure you're having trouble understanding people who like Martin's Clouseau and dislike Gambrelli, eh?

it just makes no sense to me how someone can like Gambrelli and then dislike Martin's Clouseau... Its easy. Gambrelli is not Clouseau - he's his son. Totally different. Martin passes off as the man himself. Yeah, right... but then, i'm sure you're having trouble understanding people who like Martin's Clouseau and dislike Gambrelli, eh? Sorta. I mean, Martin's Clouseau has no redeeming qualities. He's not funny, or sympathetic. Clouseau HAS to be both.

Totally different. the fact that he's a separate character from Clouseau doesn't do anything to make him any more likeable, IMO... to me, he's still an annoying character doing a worn-out routine, whether he's supposed to be Clouseau or not... but then, i'm sure you're having trouble understanding people who like Martin's Clouseau and dislike Gambrelli, eh? My least favourite is Clouseau (Steve Martin), he was just so unfunny, and he has the distinction of saving Sleigh from being the worst, and that's saying something.
Gambrelli, I quite like. I watched SOTPP not long ago, and despite some slow patches, Benegini's goffiness makes the film fun to watch.
