According to Variety, TPP2's budget is set at $60 million. This is a drop from the estimated $80 million IMDB claims was used to make TPP06. Just curious, what do you guys think of that? Is this proof that maybe MGM isn't giving the Pink Panther series its full confidence? Or is it even necessary to have a bigger budget to make a successful film?

maybe theyre just a little skeptical since the last one only made 82 million (profit of only 2 million), so theyre hoping to do just as good or better with this one so theyll have a higher amount of profit? profit does seem to be a gosl of thsee movie companies, you know.

I think with reshoots, the budget grew to 80 million. I agree that the movie studio would like to make more of a profit on this one, so they reduced the budget to 60 million. The movie made 150+ million worldwide, with another 50 million on dvd. With a budget of 60 million, and if it pulls similar numbers, that is a good profit.
I think it will easily make back those numbers, if not more. Just looking at the stills from the shoot, plus from what we've been hearing about the script, I'm confident it will be superior to the first one.
