This will be similar to the favourite film tournament but it will be with characters. Since there are quite a lot of names I have decided to put 4 names up a day.
You would select the two which you prefer.
I have decided not to add Peter Sellers Clouseau as everybody knows he would win.
Round 1
Sir Charles Lytton (David Niven)
vs
George Lytton (Robert Wagner)
______________________________
Simone Clouseau (Capucine)
vs
Princess Dala (Claudia Cardinale)

The voting for this round will close some time tomorrow night.

Hmm...All these characters were in the first pink panther; because the character-constellation in the film ist that great, it's difficult for me, but:
George Lytton because he seems more an identification character, but of course Charles was also great.
And
Simone Clouseau also difficult because I liked Claudia Cardinale and her character, but I love the intriguing at her (the end) and all this hiding Clouseau/Charles /George.

vs
Dominique Ballon (Tracy Reed)

As you can see at my name and my (future ex)avater, I am a fan of Benjamin Ballon; I liked the way he was included in the film: Not many moments, but that always convincing.
2: I love the character Hercule Lajoy...Yes, believe me, I love it, of course especially in "A shot in the dark!; though he had a background role, he made me noticing him, and I even liked his appearance in "Trail of the pink panther", one of the better scenes with Marie Jouvet.
But there is really almost NOTHING coming close to our beloved (Partial ex)Chief Inspector Charles LaRousse Dreyfuß, the second best character ever written in cinema history. The beginning insanity in "Shot", then completely insane, then cured, insane again, menacing the world, rigging a computer, and only one desire: KILL CLOUSEAU! I think I don't have to mention how sensational I think Lom is in this performance, apart from the fact that this is not the topic.

I'll agree with Clouseau and Pinkadilly and vote Dominque and Dreyfus. So therefore they both go through.
Round 3
Insp. Jacques Clouseau (Alan Arkin)
vs
Sir Charles Litton (Christopher Plummer)
Lady Claudine Litton (Catherine Schell)
vs
Col. Sharky (Peter Arne)
The first one is very tough for me.

I'm not sure pinkadilly. There are 33 users and only about 4 of them are ever online But its still fun. I''m going to say Lady litton & Insp. Jacques Clouseau. So Lady Litton goes through and so does Christopher Plummer's Phantom. Round 4 Olga Bariosova (Lesley-Anne Down) vs Cato Fong (Burt Kwouk) _____________________________________________________ Simone Legree (Dyan Cannon) vs Philippe Douvier (Robert Webber) I'm going to say Cato and Phillipe Douvier. I liked Simone Legree but I dont think her character was very necessary.

Cato and Phillipe Douvier, but I have to admit that Simone was not only a good character, but also sche was necessary for the character of Douvier.

i'm sure Cato will win over Olga, but i'm gonna cast a token vote for Olga, just for the heck of it because i really did like her...
Olga and Simone for me...

Well Cato is definetly going through but there is a tie between Phillipe and Simone. We'll return to this one.
Round 5
Prof. Auguste Balls (Harvey Corman)
vs
Professor Auguste Balls (Graham Stark)
________________________________________________
Marie Jouvet (Joanna Lumley)
vs
Clouseau's Father (Richard Mulligan)
I think I'll go with Korman as PAB and Clouseau's father.
