Wow you really love it. I've watched it about 3 times. Me twice. I don't like the idea of calling Steve Martin Clouseau at all. I just believe Peter was the only man who should have played the character. I think the character died with him. Beyoncé irritated the hell out of me. I understand how it's great for Clouseau because he likes Steve Martin, but I don't and if that's the case you're bound to hate this movie. There were a few funny gags though.

I see where your coming from. I didn't really think Beyonce was annoying (In fact I quite liked her ) When I went to see the film I wasn't expecting Martin's Clouseau to be anything like Sellers, and it wasn't. Which I thinks a good thing but I did not like Martin's Clouseau as much as Sellers. It wasn't a bad performance though, IMO. Anyway I watched High Anxiety starring Harvery Korman. I am a big fan of Harvey korman and he made the filme even funnier ;D One of Mel Brook's better films.

As Prof. Balls I prefered Graham Stark though but I liked his portrayal in Trail and Curse very much. I've just watched Strikes Again. The best Panther, with Sellers at his best in this one. I just can't get enough of this movie.

Strikes Again was the last Pink Panther film for me. I really enjoyed it a lot more than my last viewing. I may have to rerank my films, Revenge will be moving down.

I may have to rerank my films, Revenge will be moving down. hah! sensibility returns! my latest Panther-related film was The Party, starring Peter Sellers and directed by Blake Edwards... saw it last week, and really enjoyed it, except it got a little weird toward the end... up until the elephant arrived, at least, it was pretty good, i think...

History of the World Part 1: which starred Harvey Korman as Count de Monet I think Korman is hugely under-rated comedic actor. When he works with Mel Brooks its usually hillarious.

last night it was Peter Sellers and Capucine in What's New Pussycat?... if you ever thought the 1967 version of Casino Royale was weird, you need to see this movie... many of the same people were involved (Charles Feldman, Woody Allen, Ursula Andress, etc.), and the climax is just as strange, if not stranger...
on the bright side, Capucine was delightful, and there's a classic line where Peter Sellers says of Ursula Andress something to the effect of, "This is a personal friend of James Bond!"
beyond that, and a small handful of other quotes, there wasn't much i really cared for from the film, but i guess it gives me a greater appreciation for Casino Royale, and i'm glad to have at least finally seen it, so........ there you go...

It sounds interesting. I didn't think Casino Royale was too bad, or as bad as some people make out. I'll try and check it out at some point.

well what's bad is that CR was kinda growing on me, anyway, but i found Pussycat to be just so utterly crazy, CR suddenly now seems like a masterpiece to me!

I think Pussycat is great and not as strange and unsettling as CR was. The ending isn't as strange IMO. It is strange, that's right. But nowhere near as strange as CR. It's alot more funny instead of bizarre.

well i'll agree to disagree on Pussycat, but to cleanse my system, i went back last night and re-watched The Wrong Arm of the Law... enjoyed that thoroughly!

my latest: Peter Sellers in Lolita... i love the way Sellers' character just slips into his other 'personas' throughout the film, i love James Mason's voice, and i find the story very interesting...
i've never seen the remake, but i'm torn on whether i should see it or not... i think an updated version of the story could be interesting, but i'm afraid it may also lose some of the mystique the older one holds, so i don't know if i should even try to find it... can anyone who's seen it give me any advice on that one?
