PHOENIXVILLE [Pennsylvania] - Over 800 free tickets have been distributed for the Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust's 8th Annual Children's Christmas Party, being held at The Colonial Theatre on Saturday, December 2, 2006, from 2 to 4 p.m.
According to Carol Buckwalter, marketing officer, this year's event is a complete sellout with no remaining tickets available.
"We've given out more tickets than usual," said Buckwalter. "We had an excellent turnout last year so we printed more tickets. We're expecting the theatre to be pretty full this time around."
The festivities will include an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, as children can get their pictures taken with the couple. There will also be face painting, carol singing, and a showing of the animated film, "Pink Christmas."
"Last year we showed 'The Snowman' and it went over well," said Buckwalter. "This year we're showing 'Pink Christmas' starring The Pink Panther. It's an illustrated story that is very charming."
Kurt Kunsch will emcee the festivities, while Phoenixville Federal employees will be dressed as assorted holiday characters.
Organist Barbara Cathman will be playing the organ on stage. The organ will then be lowered for the showing of the film.
According to Buckwalter, the holiday tradition is underwritten by Phoenixville Federal Bank & Trust, and the generous donations from area businesses and individuals.
Admission to the party is a jar of peanut butter, which in turn will be donated to Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS).
"PACS can always use peanut butter," said Buckwalter. "Since it's lightweight, both kids and adults can carry it easier."
