In 1963, detectives took a turn toward the funny. That's because in '63, Peter Sellers played Inspector Jacques Clouseau in "The Pink Panther." It'll screen at 11 a.m. tomorrow [Dec. 9] at the Lafayette Theatre, 97 Lafayette Ave., Suffern [New York].
"The Pink Panther" isn't actually a panther, as most people think from the cartoons; it's the name of a mythic diamond that the Phantom, a famous jewel thief, is after. It's up to Clouseau to stop the heist even though he's a bumbling mess.
